“Offering Hope at the point of need with a view to help them succeed”

For over 35 years, the Christian Hope Association has been faithfully serving north Whatcom County communities with a variety of basic human social service needs.

Helping to Break the Cycle of Poverty

The Christian Hope Association works for the disadvantaged by leading our community to build on its own capacity to solve problems. We believe the transformation of the "whole person" is key to break the cycle of poverty.  CHA connects with low-income families right where they are, while partnering with them through free teaching and counseling classes to help them discover (or rediscover) their hopes and dreams while empowering them to rise above the vicious cycle of poverty.

With a long tradition of financial support from churches, businesses, service clubs, foundations and generous individuals, the Christian Hope Association has over 150 dedicated, compassionate volunteers allowing wise stewardship of available resources to serve 400 needy families a month. CHA has aided families lacking basic necessities, closing the gap of need for nutrition, housing, utilities, transportation, medical and clothing. Services include food baskets, utilities help, eviction prevention, transportation, prescriptions, clothing, furniture and special Thanksgiving and Christmas toy and food

The Christian Hope Association exists to help build community. We define community as “human relationships held together by relational ties, living out a common purpose, through common participation.”

We are attempting to work toward this goal through our personal and corporate service, in such a way that will promote genuine community under the care of God. We work to aid individuals and families to serve one another. We work to aid and call our neighbors to use the strength and resources of their community, to bless those who have few resources.

We hope to lead and encourage our community to work together to accomplish their dreams, solve their problems, and bless others with their faith and service.
